Student Accommodation in Wolverhampton

Sometimes referred to as the “heart of England”, twinned with cities in Serbia, Austria and Mongolia, and its natives named 'Wulfrunians”, Wolverhampton also is home to The University of Wolverhampton. It’s part of the second largest UK urban area, the West Midlands and its city contains plenty of things to see and do as well as everything you could possibly need, while still keeping it’s character. Its great central location to most of the major cities in the UK (Birmingham being just 20 minutes away and the likes of Manchester and London a couple of hours) it’s no wonder around about a tenth of its population are students. But having four campuses spread across West Midlands, Shropshire and Staffordshire, once you know which one you’re at will mean finding student accommodation that’s right for you. And Pads for Students hope to give you a glimpse of the kinds of properties you can expect in and around Wolverhampton,

Student Life in Wolverhampton

Though there are a fair number of nightclubs in Wolverhampton city centre, there are far more bars and student friendly pubs that are more than decent, as well as all of the main chains that are attached to student nightlife. If for some reason you’re still hungry (or rather, thirsty) for more than Wolverhampton can offer then Birmingham is just a short train ride away; which should be more than adequate for all your late night needs. Don’t forget that The Uni. of Wolverhampton has other campuses; Telford and Walsall offer their fair share of nightlife too!

Alcohol not your cup of tea? Then there are lots of coffee shops and cafes to keep you sipping. Mander and Wulfrun shopping centres host all of the shops you’ve come to love (the main chains at least) and provide a great escape from any potential showers. After dark why not check out the University’s very own intimate The Arena Theatre that holds performances from both local and national production companies. Or head to The Oakengates Theatre for comedy showcases. There’s also your popular cinemas as well as a Showcase where you can expect some great student offers and a chance to see some of the lesser known films in the industry.

Wolverhampton Student Accommodation on a Budget

Wolverhampton is a fairly cheap option for students when it comes to moving away as the weekly rent is around £52 per person per week-this is a LOT lower than a most of the bigger cities. But just because the rent is low, doesn’t mean the quality of property you’ll be getting is.

One property just above the average at £55 per week is this fabulous five bedroom student property right next to West Park. It’s also super close to local amenities such as a 24 hour supermarket as well as the city centre and its campus. Over on the other side of the park is this large 4 bed house that can be rented out with or without the bills included. It comes with a study, lounge and kitchen and is only a 7 minute bus ride to the city campus-hammock is also supplied for the garden!

Private Hall Accommodation for Students in Wolverhampton

Looking for something a little more social or perhaps simpler? Private halls may be the way to go if you want the frivolity of living with new people with the ease of not having to worry about additional costs once your rent has been taken. The university itself provides three purpose built student accommodation but there are plenty of private options available, some of which you may have already heard of and the best thing about them is that they’re usually in rolling distance of the University.

Victoria Hall Wolverhampton, just on the edge of the city centre offers high quality, great value student accommodation. Contemporary furnished and en-suited throughout it’s also extremely close to the train station! Fresh Student Living’s Chambers 51 is just down the road being literally seconds away from city campus. Again, all rooms are en-suite and come with ¾ or double beds. Bills are included in the rent and this means internet and insurance too, and it’s common room is a great place to get your social on.

CRM’s Fiveways Hall on North Road is one of the city’s well established developments in student accommodation and is made up of 4-5 en-suite bedroom cluster flats, meaning only the modern kitchen and spacious lounge are communal. It’s also one of the cheapest private halls we’ve come across starting from just £69 per person, per week.
